Sweet Jessica, aide senior domicile à Paris 7ème arrondissement

Hello! My name is Jessica, and I'm from the Philippines. I moved to Istanbul in 2018 for my MBA and completed the last two semesters of the program in Paris. As a native multilingual speaker fluent in English and two Philippine languages (Tagalog and Hiligaynon) and currently learning French, I bring a multicultural perspective to my interactions.

I grew up with my parents and grandparents (both mother and father's side). When I was in high school, my paternal grandfather had a stroke and was bedridden for 6 years. In these 6 years, I've helped my father and grandmother take care of Lolo with the assistance of a house helper and a physical therapist. I looked after my grandfather when my grandmother was out with my father for errands. Since half of my grandfather's body was paralyzed, he couldn't eat or drink water by himself. I've spoon-fed him countless times while watching his favorite shows, assisted him in drinking his medicines, and changed his clothes when the house helper was unavailable.

I've also become my paternal grandmother's grocery and salon buddy. When my grandfather passed away, my Lola and I became closer. I would accompany her during her weekend trips to the grocery store, and we had our quarterly salon dates. Until now, though I live a thousand miles from home, we still talk through video calls.

I enjoy spending time with older people. There's so much to learn from them.
