Maria has been taking care of our daughter Charlotte since the day she turned four-month. It was love at first sight - and Maria has been Charlotte's best friend (and an invaluable support to us) since. A nanny by vocation - with extensive work experience in Greece, France, Belgium and Switzerland - Maria has been just perfect in every respect, hitting the ground running from day one, and immediately adjusting to our (and Charlotte's) nature, character, schedule and needs. She made my return to work (and to an extremely demanding job) unexpectedly smooth, and even joined me and Charlotte on mission, showing remarkable flexibility and an amazing spirit of adaption. Reliable, engaging, entertaining, good humoured, always smiling, and constantly full of energy and ideas on how to teach Charlotte how to talk, walk, sing, play and discover the world - while being a kind, sweet and well-behaved baby - Maria has also helped with food preparation, light chores (often without even being asked to), and taking Charlotte to music classes and medical appointments. A former pediatric nurse, Maria has also been absolutely impeccable (and extremely professional) in taking care of Charlotte's health, timely alerting us to any issues of concern, while keeping calm and in control all the time, and always displaying good judgment in identifying the right course of action. I have no hesitation in saying that everything Charlotte is today - a smart, sweet, happy and perpetually smiling baby - we owe it mostly to Maria, who has loved her and has taken care of her (and of us) as if she was part of the family. Regrettably, we are now leaving Geneva and we have to -heartbreakingly - part from Maria. While we will never be able to find a nanny like her at our new duty station, we very much hope that she can find a caring, welcoming and fun family - either in Geneva or in neighbouring France - that values her, appreciates her and loves her as much we do (and she deserves).
